Anyone heard of 505 Performance was readin article from JP about a guy that took a 4.6L Golen Stroker & used 505 Performance 5.0 stroker kit. They used nitrous & supercharger but produced 692hp & 777 ibft torque out of a straight six reachin nascar #'s 2hp per cu.in. Company was out west.

 

cudos. i like the numbers, but i would question the reliability of that setup. and the practicality. XJ has nowhere enough chassis to support those numbers.

Yea, i've heard of them. They're in Farmington New Mexico, I believe (about four hours from me). Farmington is a pretty big automotive town. They have a good auto school out there.

 

Gotta think with that kind of work the engine life is measured in hours, not miles. Be a helluva ride, though.

 

they are the most progressive company whan it comes to building up the 4.0. they come out with stuff and others copy. that motor wasnt turboed and nitious it was just turboed and methanol injected so it could run on pump gas with out paying $5 a gallon for the high po stuff.

if you have the dough the got the good stuff

 

50 dyno pulls, tore down and you could still see machining marks and everything looked new. they could have pushed more hps out of it, but really, why? the old bench mark was like 550. 4.0 should never be underestemated (spelling sucks)

the motor was sponsered by jp and 505 so money was no object. what you should take from this motor is the parts they used to make the power that are availible to us for a decent price. check out the header, stock, and off the shelf.

 

505 is a great company to deal with too. i have been in there shop a few times as the girl i am dating has parents in farmington as that is where she is originally from. Great group of guys who will back up their product with out question.
