4 wheel drive wont work ?

Thumbs down 4 wheel drive wont work ?

i have a 93 jeep grand cherokee sport i put new drive shaft in the front and new axle joints if i turn the drive shaft by hand front wheels turn but when i put the darn thing in fwd not getting any power to the front wheels i have a np 231 transfer case with auto trans darn thing runs great in 2wd any help would be fantastic...p.s checked the linkage works fine.

Making any strange noises and how did you test it? Could be the t-case chain but they don't go out all that often.

sounds like your transfercase junked, your not getting anypower to the front drive shaft? crawl under and manualy shift it into 4x4 i know you said you checked your linkage but if might not be moving it far enough

Cool how i checked it!

had it up on the lift and put it in 4 high and 4 low but still nothing not makeing any strange noise or any of that and thwe linkage seems to be moveing it enough but i will un hook it to marrow and try to move it manuly. was kinda thinkin it could be the chain but no noise or metal shaveings in the fluid!

Put it in 4 hi or lo, engine off in park, and get under and see if you can turn the front drive shaft, if so then the chain is gone or worse.
