Default 4.6 stroker

Has anyone modified their stock 4.0 and turned it into a 4.6 stroker? If so how difficult was it and what expenses were involved

muuuuuuuch less hassle

wanna stroke that much?...boring cylinders, matching bore with appropriate pistons/rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, cam-shaft, lifters, pushrods, ECM reprogram, etc. etc. etc.....

easier to get a V8, harness, ecm, etc....& spend brain-work on mounting & driveline angles

am i generally on track?

Reliability has been questioned by Frank.

My experience was horrible, posted about it numerous times.

I finally wised up and got the power I was after by dropping a 5.3L Vortec motor into my heep.

Simply no comparison.

Was just dropping the 5.3 vortec both easier and more cost effective?

I put the 4.2 in and bolted the 4.0 head and injection system on it. The only other change was taking the 4.0 flywheel and transferring it to the 4.2

Cost effective for the power? Oh yes.

Easier?
