4.5 inches want to be 6-6.5
Right now I have an rc 4.5 inch lift and thinking about going up to 6 inches. I'm thinking about the rc shackle relocator kit and some coil spacers in the front, any body with same type of set up or some experience? Posted this in the wrong part of the forum the first time lets see it I got it right this time

4.5" is pretty much the final height where you can be cheap. going higher means spending more $$ to not have your jeep drive like dog****.
longarms
steering
SYE
well, since you have a 2wd you dont need a SYE. watch out in mall parking lots, at that height you might not see small children in crosswalks.

Long arms are a nice option.
I personally have Control Arm Drop on my 6.5 inch and it handles fine. Long arms would handle better.
The shackle relocation will give you the extra 1.5 inches you're looking for. The spacer isn't a bad option either. In the long run it might be better to go with new springs if you can afford them.

But yes, you may need it if you ever want to use a lifted XJ for anything more than show.
I would like to know why you feel the need to lift it more?

I do just as good as the 4x4s here in Miami there really isn't anything too nasty that I wouldn't be able to get through, the reason I want to lift more is so I can flex just a little better I stuffed 33 into my 4.5 inch lift and I don't have much room

I was at 7"s with long arms on 35s lifted how your wanting to do it and had problems with wondering and bump steer. I have 1 ton steering and rebuilt axle. It was cheeper to buy re 5.5" coils and 3.5"leafs and boomerang shackles then to correct the steering issues. And now all my problems are gone

You guys don't need to be jerks just because he had a 2wd and wants to lift it more. To each his own. All he asked for was some advice and instead he gets harassed. He has a nice jeep. It looks very very good.
As for lifting it more if you have the money you will definitely want long arms they will flex the best ride the best and handle better. At least that's my experience, but they do cost more and require an sye. I have a 6.5 long arm and love it! It performs great when wheel as well as getting to the trail.
