Exclamation 3" Lift Kit... will a t case drop be ok?

want to lift 3", dont want to pay the crazy amount they want for the 242 t case sye and driveshaft, would a transfer case work? Or would there be vibrations?

if it wont work ill just go with a 2.5" lift.

I'm at 4.5" no vibes. Maybe i got lucky, haha. Never get to wheel it hardcore cause I'm away at school.

You should be fine without. If not a T Case drop should work.

You may not need anything, but if you do have vibes a tc drop should be fine, my 98 had 5 inches of lift and just a small drop.

Yes a transfer case drop would be okay on a 3-inch lift.

Note that the cost for the NP242 SYE/driveshaft is actually the same price as the NP231 in many circumstances. I run the Tom Woods NP242 SYE. You shouldn't need an SYE for 3 inches of lift though.

I'm at 3" and 31's and I've got no vibes (maybe I'm just lucky though). Most people say that you don't need anything extra until you go over 3".

I've never had to add anything for 3inch lifts. No vibes no problems.

Go for it! Or just get a 4.5

I've personally done two 3inch lifts on 97+ XJ's with no problem one was a 99 other was an 01.

Just make sure your steering components are sound and you will be fine.

You don't need a transfer case drop or SYE at 3". SYE would just be a nice upgrade for other reasons not related to a vibration. I have a 4.5" lift on a 97 with no vibration. Used to have a T-case drop on it, but since I've replaced the crossmember to do a long arm upgrade, that has changed. I'm using the 1" drop holes on the cross member, but since the stock crossmember for the ax-15 mounts it 1" lower this new crossmember at 1" down really only puts it back at the stock location.

I have another question for you guys. My leaf springs are kinda saggy so should I spend the extra money to get full leaf packs or will blocks or adda leaf correct it?

My '01 had a pretty bad driveline vibration after doing a 3" lift. TC drop spacers fixed it about 98%.

If your springs are saggy I'd definitely recommend getting new leaf packs.
