Question 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport BUSHWACKERS? Yes or no?

So, I just ordered the Cut Out Bushwacker Fender Flares for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. One of my brothers is going to do the cutting with a cutting blade attached to an angle grinder, then we'll prime the cuts, and silicon the seals to make it weather proof. Then my OTHER brother is saying its a stupid idea and i need to return the fender flares because its going to rust the crap out of my Jeep...I think the Bushwackers will look awesome and will protect from dings and scratches because my tires stick out about 3 inches. Any opinions are highly appreciated! Thanks!

They won't cause rust anymore than the original flares. If you do it right you'll be fine.
BTW, welcome to CF!
