Jeep overheats. I am not willing to buy all new cooling system parts and pay for the labor to get them put in. I am too lazy to put them in myself
-__-' well how does it over heat? all the time? only sometimes? well lets look at this at a differint angle.
first off make sure your cyl head is not creaked or has a blown head gaskit.
if that is good the jeep needs a cooling rebuild. not a big deal..
if you haveint looked in to prices or anything on parts, the lest youll need is a water pump, 195* thermostat. and MAYBE a rad. you dont need to get mopar stuff or anything fancy. now ive been thorugh this 3 times on my jeep.
i payed $220 for a water pump, thermostat, hoses AND! and new rad. so with that being said let say worst comes to worst you go somewhere and get this done and they charge you $250ish ( 3 hours over $80 an hour( lets just say ) ok so lets say worst comes to worst you pay $500ish on a cooling rebuild. ( maybe more, maybe less )
you rather trade in the jeep over some maintenance? i dont know what has been done or not done to your jeep. but if your cooling sys is all org like mine when i got my jeep. yeah i spent MORE then $500 to rebuild my cooling sys. i did that all at 118K now, im at 165K. its money well spent. if i can get 100k out of my rebuild, ill be happy.

I don't 100% agree, don't get me wrong I will have me XJ until the wheels fall off (but then I'll fix her up again!) But if u want to trade urs in that's up to u, we don't know the full story of it. For all we know it could be a lemon and he's tired of it. So what did u plan on trading it in for???
