I was wondering if you think when modifying the hinges to go door less will hold up to the extra weight of our doors? That is one reason I have not done that yet. I really want to do half doors some day.

Mine sagged before I did the mod so my friend and I reinforced everything while we were realigning the hinges.

Yeah I can defiantly feel the weight diff. between my door and my sons 4-door. My biggest concern is if the pin will not bend with out the bottom part of the hinge to keep thing squared up.
If I get into some hard core trails I will be doing something about the door for sure. I hope you don't mind me sharing but, I think it would be nice to do some Half doors like this guy did.

I think he did about the best job on his door I have ever seen.

I know taking the doors of is one way making the vehicle lighter. Don't you jeopardize the structural strength. the Cherokee has no frame, and I would think the doors help in the body flexing. I added frame stiffeners to help in the structural strength of the body, and did not remove the doors.

It's uniframe and quite strong. The doors do nothing to add structural integrity.

If they did, you wouldn't be able to open and close them.

Here's my 89. Currently bringing it back to life after it sat for several years in someone's driveway.

A 2-door limited.... interesting. Glad you're helping it survive.

It's a cool old jeep for sure. The man that owned it special ordered it new in 89. I even have the original owners manual and service records.

Alright, so I need a bit of assistance from anyone well-knowledged in 2-door parts. I'm having some issues with my windows. the driver side window angles back and forth when moving it up or down, we're looking for a new window regulator, power windows. All my father and I are coming up with are assemblies for 4 door cherokees with some places saying it will fit both or not being descriptive enough of whether or not it does work for both models. Are they the same and if not, does anyone have any clue of what fixes there may be without getting an entirely new assembly? i've seen fix/replacement videos but those fixes are for problems of the windows not moving up or down because of stripped plastic pieces, I'm not certain that is the case this time around. Any help on this would be awesome.

Edit: we've found the discontinued part number, that led us to the replacement model part number, so we may be alright, but any other tips or assistance is still appreciated if there's anything i should be wary of

I would have a look at the window guides themselves. I'm not sure about the 2-door jeeps as I haven't tore into mine yet but in most cases you can adjust them to take play out of the window.

I'm a Newb ... my sister is giving me her '96 BASE 2 Door XJ "Grocery Getter". I have Big Plans for it.
For RIGHT NOW ... does anyone in this group know, with certainty, where I can get Rear Quarter Glass Seals ? Paint is in its future, and I like to pull all glass for a thorough job.
Any insights would be AWESOME !
Thanks !

Not really a For Sale Thread, but I'd be interested in the door shells, if pretty straight, Cruiser54
