Default 1988 Cherokee Laredo...

So, I am new here, and just bought myself a 1988 Jeep Cherokee Laredo after my 96 XJ was wrecked in a t-bone accident on the highway. Must say, it is nice to have an inline-6 vs. a small 4 cyl. Not so nice with the gas....

Anyways, my question(s) is this:
1). No interior lighting in the whole jeep. I mean, not even to light up the dashboard. Can't see my speedometer, fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, or even the A/C, in the dark. Question #1: Might sound kind of stupid, but did they even have that back in 1988? If so, how do I go about fixing the electrical on that?

2). Interior Dome Lights. I have 2 interior dome lighting on the inside roof of my cherokee, they both do not work. I put new bulbs in, turned the switch, and nothing. My guess is this, the metal rods rusted out and I need to install new ones. Is that correct? Just curious on how to fix this situation.

3). When I bought this jeep, the previous placed the idle on very high, I mean, the screw was all the way to the right. So, I lowered the idle, and now it stalls every so often when I come to a complete stop. My guess is this, there is a hole in the tailpipe, which I ran through to the muffler, exhaust pipe, and catalytic converter. I covered all holes in those areas with QuikSteel (love that stuff) and hope that fixes my problem overnight. I found a hole in the muffler, and don't think that's too big of an issue, but should I plug that in as well?

4). My A/C and heat only work when at high speeds (around 50+ mph). When I am going that fast, it blows cold A/C and hot heat. When I am doing 25 mph, it trickles in. Does not blow. Why is that? What needs fixing?

5). Any tips, suggestions, or comments about my purchase? I bought it for $1500 bucks and it has 200,000 miles on it. I read reviews online about those styles and every review was positive besides one or two. First review said it was running strong still after 365,000 miles on the dam motor.

Thanks, and I look forward to learning a lot from the people in the Cherokee forum!
