$1700-$2500 to spend in Oregon or Washington
So I have some money to spend and was thinking of getting a Cherokee. I have had YJ's TJ's and a full size wagy. I want to get a Cherokee this week and I have upto but not more than $2500 to spend on a rig and repairs/upgrades to get me started.
So if anyone has some free time on thier hands take a look at these two that are the front runners so far, but if you have time to take a look at CL in Oregon and Washington (I'm okay with a drive to find the right deal) and find something that may be a better option let me know.
Thanks in advance for your advice and help. Time to see what this XJ thing is all about.

I like the 2nd one in bend, these are both 87s which are renix so get familiar with them, cruiser54 has some great tips to keep them running good, look out for the abs ones though as they generally have break problems, post up what you end up getting but cl is full of xjs right now so good time to buy.
I'm meeting up with the owner of the second one tomorrow at 10:30. If everything checks out I'll take it. There is allot out there right now in that price range, just a couple jems among allot of rough stuff.

I'd say 2nd one cause alot of work is done already, but check the work cause it could be shotty(lift company, home brew, ect?)...get em to 2400 and its a steal....
2nd one looks good. Lot of the work is completed already. I assume this will be a toy or will it be a DD? Might have to upgrade steering at some point runnin 35's.
Post up how you do. If you buy it post up more Picts. Having the lift/tires/8.8 already done, that's a big $ savings.
Good luck

I picked up the 2nd one for $1600!!!! It took about an hour in the rain on the top of mt hood but I was able to get the price down mostly because he is moving to Alaska next week and some nit picking of how dirty he left it. The 8.8 and Rough Country lift where done professionally. The tires where bought from Les Schwab about 2 years ago and only have about 5k miles on them (95% tread still). The steering is pretty loose, it goes in a straight line when you let go of the wheel but when you go to turn it gets kind of grabby. Also the cut job on the fenders is pretty bad. The cut itself has a good shape but they just cut and hammered it and they didn't paint or anything. Because of that there is surface rust at all for corners where it was cut and hammered. So far it's cleaning up nice, I think I got a great deal. I'll post some pics a little latter.
