Good to hear that Fred. The post was from 2010 and the forum was really inactive so I didn't bother joining.

I hope to be able to get a 1.5"-2" lift in by winter. Been out of commission a while so I've got a lot of work around the place to catch up on.

If your leaf springs are sagging AALs are going to be your cheapest solution, new springs the best solution. When they sag really bad it's obvious just looking at the jeep(***-dragging). If they're just worn but haven't completely given up, the height will look ok, but you'll notice rear feels much softer, making the front feel rather bouncy.

If the springs are fine, shackles n pucks will get the job done. A 2" lift looks good, but while 235/75/15 tires look beefy under a stock XJ, they start to look a bit puny at 2" of lift(see pic). If that's the tire size you want, I'd suggest going with a 1" lift. My tires are fairly new, so I'm waiting till I wear em out, then I'm going to 31s.

Springs and coils on mine are good(I've seen plenty of pics of sagging springs). My 235's are as tall as I want to go(General AT2s)as there was a noticeable drop in performance over the 215's that were on it. Definitely not getting into regearing. I've got KYB Monomax shocks on it that don't have many miles on them so with the brackets from my rear sway bar for BPE's and then if I buy a set for the front I can use these shocks. 1" to 2" would suit me fine. How can you do just 1"?

Well if you get lucky and find an Up Country XJ at your local yard it'll have 1" pucks. Check out Serious' website, he probably has 1.5" kits on hand.

IF we had a local yard. Nearest ONE is 60+ miles one way. Back when metal prices were high the small two local yards near here crushed and sold everything.

I've got Serious' site saved and been playing around with different combos. I'll get something together. Long and short AAL's. Anyone know of any advantages of one over the other?
