Default yes another roof rack.

I have never posted before, so we will see if I did it right. Love to look in the fabrication and homebrew section. Just wanted to post my rack because I really like the ladders and have not seen one like it. Just step on the tires and your up. It makes it real easy to load and tie down. It's not pretty, but a fun Jeep never is. What do you think?

Very cool. A guy here with a square tube exo cage has a really similar setup, but I think he is doing a roof top tent.

Is there any kind of metal brace on the inside of the Quarter panel for reinforcement where the bottom of the ladder bolts in?

I've seen a lot of attempts to make roof racks but this is the nicest one well done.

Thanks for the kind words. I am sorry, but I do not think I have any pics of the build. If any one is interested I can take some better pics of the mounting and bracing. It is braced very well on the under side that you cannot see in the pics. And yes it does have plate on the inside that it bolts to. Thanks again.

did he ever finish it? i really like the idea of a roof top tent, think them are pretty nice. was he building it himself from scratch or buying the kit.

to the OP thats pretty nice looking. i thought about doing something similar but didnt want to chance ripping it off while out in the woods. its a good thing to because the first time out i would have done so against a tree

I thought about the tree thing when I was making it. That is why I did the bottom of the ladder with the curved pieces, to maybe help something slide over it. And also the tires and the flares are out past the ladder.

Sweet!

I'm trying to figure out how much you would have to price something like that if you were going to sell them to the public but with the labor involved building one by hand you could ask a thousand bucks for one and still not get paid enough.
I would have nightmares about grinding all those welds clean.ha, ha.
