Looked online and herculiner is said to be waterproof

 

Can someone confirm this? Any paint and body guys? I was informed a few years ago by a buddy that is a paint guy at a local hot rod shop that primer is porous and won't seal water out.

 

I thought it absorbed moisture...

 

Yes, something like that. Like it won't seal, and will allow rusty to still form.

 

So it looks like Bondo, then herculine it. It shouldn't leak or crack then
