Well not having a pick up anymore SUCKS! So decided to build a trailer for hauling, parts mostly. I need some doors here, metal there, axles soon.

Got the frame and deck mostly done this weekend. About 12 hours in solo.

Specs:
5x10 frame .125 2x2 Tube
2x2 .188 Angle Supports
2x2 .250 Tongue 8ft A Frame
2x6 treated deck

To do:
Spare carrier
Ramp Build
Ramp hangers underneath
Fenders and lighting
Coupler and Jack install
Test ride
Disassemble and paint(implement enamel on metal)

Anyone running stock aluminum rims on there trailers?

Any tips from experience with the to dos?

Thanks

190 for steel

Never too level with an uneven floor.

Work was interrupted for the night. Yup, and that guy asked me why I was so weird!

Sweet. How much $ do you have invested in material?

Picked up a 3500# axle, 15" trailer rims, and some beefy springs for around 125.

Need to find some nice tires.

Nice job man looks good. I am doing the same project, but I bought an old 24' camper. Cut the deck from 20' to 14' moved the axles up further towards the tounge. Cut out all the center cross beams (they were weak). I have 5 more cross beams to weld in then deck it and paint. Then I got trailer built for the xj

Thanks. I was sick of borrowing trailers. And couldn't find any on CL that weren't 500-750 for a rusty jalopy trailer without some goofy wood fencing or whatever all over it. Searched for weeks.

Still debating putting rails around, permanent, or stake pockets, removable.

Main purpose is ATV hauling, parts/material hauling, and deer carcass transport. With the occasional trip to the dump. <-- may require stake pockets. We'll see. Have to make final decision before painting, quickly bc weather is getting cold here.

Had some time this weekend to work on it.

Carriage bolts galore.

Bolted up axle with ****ty tires to measure for fenders. Yet to fab.

Working on fenders presently.

Three pc sheetmetal step on design. Very strong.

Tread pattern triangular steps to frame.

Ran outa solid wire so onto this fc. Works great.

Lights will come off the rearmost angle.

Also thinking of ideas for sides. What ab stake pockets with 2x6 posts, 3 ft tall corrugated steel running horizontally for sides then expanded steel on front and rear. All sprayed black. Low drag compared to fence style or plywood Completely removable to retain original flatbed design. Only need sides once and a while.
