Got the winch cradle done and half *** mointed. I'm gonna go ahead and build a full bumper and did a tune up along with a turbo muffler.

Stubby should be easier than a whole bumper..build what you want the first time.

Actually it sticks out 5.25 inches past the grill. Just enough for a 9k. You try dealing with all of the other crap in order to build a hidden bumper. I'm still in the process of resesing it. Lw if I'm not mistaken didn't you too abandon the same design saying it's not worth it? Lol.

Making a stubby isn't that hard, I'm mostly done with mine.
Front of it is like 2" from the grill

I just need something strong to throw a winch on for a while. Only took me 2-3 hours to put together and technically mine is stubby lol..

No, I abandoned the idea of making a hidden winch mount to use behind a factory bumper. Not because of it's complexity but because I don't have the time to devote to it and I'm not sure how well it would sell.

Making a hidden winch bumper is no more complicated than building what you're building now. If anything I'd say it's easier. If I ever get around to it all I have to do is drill a couple holes and mount my winch behind my bumper and I'll be done with mine.

The only thing that's different is cutting out the cross member. (Which takes 10 minutes)
