Nice work! Just curious, are they welded on? Can we get some shots of how they're mounted? I know the main goal was steps for your son, but will they also function as sliders(can they handle the weight of the vehicle?)

Not trying to nitpick or anything. I'll be fabbing up my own set of sliders so I'm checking out all the related threads. Wanna see what all my options are.

EDIT: I see, you already had the sliders under there. Just added on the steps. Still curious about how they're mounted. I noticed the angle iron.

They are bolted on for removal,as I hope They wont need to be there forever.I used 5/16 self tappers ,8 total on the uni,8 total on the pinch rail(per side)Think of them more as an over built step with lower pinch rail/rocker protection.1x3" under rocker.will snap you pics later..If I wanted these to be sliders,I would probably recomend using more mounting points to the uni-rails.As-is I can jack up the truck from them no problem, plus now my rack is more user friendly. It would have been easier/cheaper to just weld them to the jeep

relax man. i dont think there is anything wrong with what you posted. its a fuctional piece of equipment designed for the ingress and egress of mini-cheesyxj's. i get it.

on the other hand, i can see a kids leg falling between the inboard and outboard rails...i would put some expanded steel or something on top of those steps.

i've got three little ones...sometimes they get stuck in the weirdest places.
