Sliders
They're not done, I've still got tube steel for steps to put on similar to JCRs stage 3 sliders, but it's not here yet. I also didn't have my Jeep with my today and just winged it on the plate. The rear end plate is going to be low to get bolts through the frame so I'm gonna have to cut it shorter and weld plate on the bottom to bolt up through the bottom of the frame. Hoping to get them on tomorrow.
I'd rather have gone all 1/4" but I wanted to get rid of what I had sitting around and these won't see much abuse. Figured it was a good use of the steel til I did 2x6 rockers.
Sliders are 1.75x1.75x3/16
Two arms are ^
Two are 2x2x.25
Plate is 3x4x3/16
arms are 9.5"
sliders are 62" - They run from the front of where my fenders cut to before where the rockers end and the wheel well starts. Left it short because I'm cutting the rear again shortly to fit 35s. As they sit now they're 1/16" inch from being flush with outside edge of the rockers.

Putting the arms ut toward the ends sees to have the best results as far as not bending them. I have gone to using 3 mounts, and if I ever build anoter set it will have 4 arms

They're gonna function a lot more as side steps than sliders for the most part or I'd have gone with 3. Definitely thought about it but there aren't really rocks around here.

I've always wondered, why not have the mounting plate out of some 1/4" C channel? Wouldn't that be stronger, and probably easier to bolt on than the flat plate?
Still, looks good though. When I finally get myself a welder, Thinking sliders will be one of, if not my first, project.

When I picked plate I'd planned on welding them directly to the frame. If these were gonna stay on permanently I'd have used 1/4" angle iron.

Ya, those are nice side steps but they don't stand a chance against rocks. Very functional though.
