The best ones (to me) I've seen are when you cut out the rocker and weld in some rectangular tubing.

i was wondering if it would be better to weld or bolt or both myself. i never plan on taking them off unless i break them in that case wouldnt mind cutting them off and im goin to be using 1/4 plat anyways on my mounting taps so if i wanted to i could always tie that in on plating the frame

I have these on my XJ, and I have landed hard on them numerous times no problem.

wow this thread is way old... and on the Iron Rock sliders...without the pinch seam support you are going to push the slider right up into your rockers(which isnt the point to save the rockers from damage?) and going to warp the unibody rail bad....

maybe not the first couple hits but all that weight dropping down on the slider is acting like a lever (remember physics???) and putting more force on the unibody rail than if would than just hit that on a rock

Look closely at the description of the IRO sliders. They bolt to the pinch weld in 6 places, plus the frame kickers bolt to the uniframe rail. Can use as a hilift jack lift point.

But there are some in house Cherokee forum made rock sliders in the vendor section. they are $200 for exceptional build quality and can be customized as well

that is what i am doing! but to keep the theme of way overkill armor and poor fuel economy i am using 3/8" wall braced to the unibody rails and welded like you have.

i can get it for cheap is the only reason why i am using 3/8" and nothing else.
