Gutted my 95 this morning. Biggest hole 8" on passenger front. Got my replacement panels from Raybucks. Unbelievable fit. Has all the stiffening ribs and body lines as original. Will save me alot of time fabricating. Did remove the front seat mounting channels, since these are welded in on top of the floors. Drivers side is good, passengerside is going to need some repair. Does anybody know if these are reproduced?

Making headway on the floors. These panels fit so well I cut more out than I was originally going to. I had left a lip by the rockers for the new floor to rest on but that would have left some rusted metal between the rockers and the new floor so I just took an air chisel and cut the flange off the rockers since the new floors have the flange already bent on. The whole floor I cut out using a cheap Harbor Freight high speed metal saw item #91753 using one blade for the whole passenger side. Didn't expect that at all. Subframe channel was good, just had to drill out a broken seat bolt, hit it with some etching primer then top coated with an industrial black enamel. Now I'm waiting for the paint to dry. I did since find a source for the seat mounting channel. Can't say enough about the quality of these floor, even the hole for the seat belt bolt was dead nuts on.[IMG]

Turned out when I went to order the seat channels they are now discontinued, so had to repair the old ones. Ended up cutting flange off rockers making a better job. Then using a combination of screws, steel pop rivets and welding got the new panels fastened down, along with panel sealer making a very solid floor. Then again went over the seams inside and out with panel sealer and covered the inside seams and drain hole plugs with roofing tar sealer. Had the rug steam cleaned while it was out. (I don't want to hear alot of ribbing about the rug, I now alot of you are offroad enthusiasts but mine is a daily driver.) After it was all back together I had the local body shop undercoat it. That crap you buy in a can just ain't thick enough.

Went wheeling this past weekend. Insulation on the trans hump helped a lot, still gets warm in cab. Realized where it's coming from though, I don't have a heater control valve. It's just plumbed into the coolant lines. Gonna get aa control valve and It'll be cooler in there.

After finding the rust in my XJ the other day, then seeing pictures of what REAL rust looks like I now don't feel so discouraged.
Pinholes and a hole the size of a quarter is NOTHING compared to what a lot of you guys are dealing with.

I first sprayed an etching primer on the unibody channels then good old rust o leum brushed on top of it. The panels already had a good baked on black finish so I didn't touch them. Coated all the seams with a roofing tar. This combination always held up for me. I am sure there are alot of other good products out there. Por 15 after a few years always seemed to peel off. Maybe it was the moisture under the rug that did it in.
