Permanent center console removal
Hello. I`m in the process of changing the color of the interior of my 94 Cherokee from tan to black (Using Duplicolor Vinyl Dye). I took the center console out and cleaned and colored it and while it was air drying in my yard I went out and as I drove along I found I really liked the open space of that thing not being in there. Has anyone ever gotten rid of this and cleaned up the exposed parts under the gear shift etc so it looks nice? Any pics of something like this? Thanks

I have though about it when I replaced the E brake lever. However I don't think I could do without the center storage and cup holders...
Are you going to make something to finish it or just kind of leave it raw with stuff exposed? I mean if you where going to make a new console to dress it up then by all means pictures are worth a thousand words

I've got that same mini console, where there is just a very small cover on the e brake.I hate it. I want a center console so bad. Trust me when you go lean on your arm rest thats not there you'll want it back. hehe. There are no good junk yards around here, but i'll keep looking for one. I do like the open space but i would muCh rather have a small storage area, arm rest and place 4 cup holders.

Maybe could adapt one from a TJ. Some of the SE models came with a half console and rubber boot for the ebrake that might look more modern.
