Default need help with a rear bumper

I have a 2x5 channel rear bumper with stock style mounts and d ring shackles ..the other night when i was parked in the street someone hit the rear ..me being a nice guy sadly said it was fine thinking it just got pushed in and could be pulled back out. After taking a look it wrecked the unibody where the 4 bolt holes are. whats the best way to change it to have a stronger mounting point also..i was thinking either solid weld it to the sub frame under the hatch ..im not to worried about having it removable or not, also i was thinking about tying it into my rock sliders (2x6) with tube around the wheel wells. any help or ides would be appreciated.

you could cut out around the factory bolts"inside the bolt pattern" and insert a tube into the unibody, and use the factory trailer hitch mounts to bolt on the bumper, this is how ost aftermarket bumpers are mounted, especially with pull rings.

^ what he said, thats the best way to do it, then your d rings are usable too. If you just weld it on, you are 1. Relying on your welds to hold it 2. Relying on the thin factory sheet steel to not rip 3.never be able to easily take it off again. Some either box steal or angle iron of appropriate size, few welds, cutting and drilling and you have a nice stout bumper

I looked at that but the "frame" seemed a little rusty to bolt through the hit h holes but what about through the side?

If the bottom of the rails look rusty to the point you don't think they will hold any load you have other problems man.....but side bolts should work just as good as bottom bolts. Are you sure it's not just surface rust? Possibly time for unibody stiffeners if unirails are trashed, or atleast some patching/braceing

I'd be more worried about taking care of all that rust more than the bumper.

X2 box plate that section at least to the bump stop, then work around the bumper mount.
