steel isnt to bad he most likely has under $100 in steel for that. I made my "sliders" / boat sides for $200 in steel

I have some 2X6 READY to go in place of somerusted out rockers and I was doing some searching for ideas, because welding to th stock rocker/door sill seems shady, and I came accross this really good thread with a couple supe ideas, check it out http://www.jeepkings.ca/forums/showt...er-replacement

i had to spot weld the whole thing. let it puddle up on the rock rail side until it runs into the sheet metal then let off, move, do it again,
oh and that is one of the hardest things to weld on an xj welding 3/16 to sheet metal that thin, and the sheet metal is galvanized too so as long as you weld the whole thing itll be good. they probably wont look pretty

that stuff is stronger than you think it is.

looks good! those will definitely hold up on the trail. where did you get your bumper? or did you make it? it looks sweet!
