might seal off around the pipe going into the cowl... this is where you AC and heat pull air from... even if you dont use either... itll keep mud and stuff from clogging everything up (wheep holes) and rusting out...

ppsssttt.... its under the hood against the firewall... its not going to get that we anyways... and all cuts should be painted over anyways... just make sence...
I like the creativity may I ask why you wanted to go out the cowl instead of threw the fender and up higher? BUt i think its great looking with the filter and cover on

take a peice of metal cut in a square just a little bigger then hole. draw a circle size of pipe cut it out.. cut 1 slit to edge.. cover hole put the slit going down... 4 screws and some black rtv..
I have made snorkels before and put them on the side of the vehicle and it always seems to get ripped off by a tree. By doing it this way i hope to keep it on the vehicle. If it gets ripped off i may just route it in to the glove box. But so far its been great
