More clearance !
Well I am done on this little project for a little while.
Phase 1,
Cut a chunk out of the front bumper for even more clearance, second time. You can see all of the impacts from the rocks on the front bumper, rust spots.
Before. (2nd cut, afer 1st cut )
My original design and build was square, then I cut the angle.
After, (But before paint)
Phase 2,
Cut a chunk out of the rear bumper.
Before.
After,
Phase 3,
Cut out the qtr panels and fold flat, weld back together. Make protection that bolts on and will protect the sheet metal. Add skid plates. The picture above is the rear bumper welded back together and the qtr guard.
It bolts to the skid plate, rear leaf mount, unibody and bumper.
I will take pictures of the skid plates and and final paint, wife took off with camera
Enjoy

Its scary how similar your back bumper is to mine and I am about to do to mine exactly what you just did to yours. Except I am going to integrate my hitch into it. What are the dimensions of your rear bumper? Mine is 2x7 square stock.

The bumper has integrated D rings and a 2" reciever.
It is made from all 3/16" plate and tube, I welded 2 2X3 tubes together, you can see in one of the pictures above where I cut out the corner.
I did this to make it stronger where the hitch is frenched in.
Also local metal yard had the 2X3 3/16" in stock.
Yes I have done some rocker protection, but not the way everyone else did with the rectangular tube, I have 3/16 plate that matches the rocker contour and 1" solid bar welded to it. It is bolted along the pinch weld and front fender and quarter panel.
This picture is a little older and does not show the bolts that go through the fender and quarter.
Enjoy

EDIT:
Here is a full on rear and front view, so you can see the improvement in clearance.
Thanks
