Modified stock XJ bumper?
I been trying to design a new bumper using my stock bumper as a starting point and was wondering if anyone else has done this. If anyone has built a modified stock XJ bumper please post up some pictures so maybe I can get a few ideas. Thank you for all your help in advance.

Get creative. There's tons of stuff you can do. What do you want? What kind of wheeling do you do?
Just keep in mind that to retain the OEM bumper you're going to do about 3 times as much work to keep a thin little bumper skin as you would just build something out of decent metal that's not going to bend every time you run into a shopping cart.
Are you just wanting recovery points? Are you wanting a winch? You just want to mount some lights on it? What do you want?

I bashed my OE bumper into sooo much crap before I built mine, it never dented, just lots of scratches. But like said above, What do you need it for? Just looks, then no need for one. Recovery points, Go to the JY and pull the front hooks off an XJ

I don't have photos but I built a basic winch box in the front (will finish a full bumper someday). I thought a stubby looked a little funny so I cut my stock bumper and mounted the outside ends back on. It looks much better now.
