My factory electric fan was doing the same. It would only kick on when the AC was on. That's why I wired both to the relay.

Its supposed to only come on when the Air is on. I know that just wondering what temp is it supposed to kick on at? ????

My buddy 's 99 XJ comes on at 190 but mine don't. I have a 97 .just wondering if there's different temp for different years or is something wrong with mine

Did this conversion on mine but use a fan from a Mark VIII lincon 3.4 I think... it is 2 speed and works great. easy change over and mounts right up. I also used the Delta Currant control, very nice product...

so was anyone successful with using 2 a/c aux fans... switch, no switch, miles/length of time???

I wouldn't try it personally. The stock electric fans don't pull much air at all.

Can you just hard wire them with no temp sensor? wired to something that only had power when the key is on?

yeah you could do that with a relay, but the temp sensor kit is like 25 bucks for everything at advanced/autozone..

It's a great idea. I might "add" a switch if I did a lot of driving through water to shut it off. Might be my only addition to this mod. But, otherwise, top notch. Thanks for posting OP.

Agree. It robs 8hp if I remember. Which is noticeable. Just need to make sure the electric fan has enough cfm to push enough air. The hot rod guys run into the challenge all the time.
