thats awesome. im glad im not the only one thinking along these lines for a rear bumper. i may have over thought it when i wanted to try and keep it simple but didnt want a bumper like everyone else builds.

i cant wait to get it finished and put on. should be done by saturday.

here she is in her final stages of welding. as you can see my pin goes on the inside. i had to redrill the reciever to accept it though not a big deal. then i welded on some 1/4" plate on the bottom on the inside for the trailer chains and that sits flush with the bottom of the bumper. then a whole view of the bumper and finally hit hanging up in my paint booth. that was not fun shes a heavy pig. i did weld some plate, drilled, and tapped the bottom of the mounts so that i could bolt on my frail rail mounts to the bottom. that was the only way i could do it and be able to remove the bumper without having to remove the leaf springs.

thanks guys. i think i need some bigger tires though them 31s just look funny now with all that approch and departure angle. hmm 35s with a little stretch sounds nice might settle for 33s so i can lock the front and not worry as much though. next on the list of fab work is going to be my quarter panel guards and flat/tube fenders. hope to start that next month but might wait to get the bigger tires first.

I like it a lot, but I have to say it would look a bit better with those gaps under the tail lights filled.

This looks pretty good, I agree with fiilling it the gaps under the brake lights and just for well being maybe adding in a nut strip through the frame

x2 on the gaps, but i think with the 1/4 strip we put down the bottom of the frame rail it will work the same as puting it on the in side

guys guys dont worry calm down about them there gaps. as previously stated i am going to be working on my quarter panel guards. there for my tail lights will be obsolete since i will be adding a different set in there. so i am going to hold on of filling the gap until i make the quarter quards as i am planning on making them like the jcr ones that wrap around. so once i build them i will know where to make the filler pieces go to. didnt want to have to make them twice so i am just going to suck it up with the gaps until them.

there is a factory nut strip there that we utilized. it was the nut strip used for the hitch so we was hoping it will be good enough
