Default Lower Rear Quarter Panel

So anyways, I have a 1992 Cherokee Laredo that I was handed as a first car from my dad. It's been in the family its entire life and has only seen snow twice maybe three times. In 2007, we had a rust hole in the passenger rocker, so we got the rockers off JCW and replaced both sides (driver's side as preventitive maintainence). After that, everything looked brand new, now I have another rust hole, My lower quarter panel on the passenger side has rusted through. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on how to fix it.

Thanks! ,
Jon

Pretty much cut the rust out and weld in new sheet metal in place of it

Thats pretty much what i was thinking but didnt know if it was the best idea or not. I saw that quadratec is selling the part for $59.99 but there's no way in hell i'm wasting that much money. So all I have to do is cut the cancer metal out with a sawzall and weld some sheet metal in? sounds easy, but problem is when i get the welds ground down and everything i'll have to bondo over to make it look perfect and won't the bondo make it look thicker then the non rusted metal?

please use a grinder with a cut off wheel not a sawzall! the sawzall's back and forth motion will rip it all to hell. weld the metal in, bondo, sand it down on the edges so it makes a taper up to the higher part, paint it with a few coats and call it goos. dude its a cherokee.... its a go car, not a show car!

i'll be sure to use my grinder after hearing that. you gotta see some pics of my XJ sometime, it looks perfect minus that rust. and it's only got 107,000 on it so its a showcar (at least for a cherokee) in my opinion. lol
