How did you get the Ram alternator on there? I put one on mine, and the lower bolt wouldn't fit. The body of the alternator was too big and it wouldn't fit all the way into the cast aluminum bracket. I stuck it in there anyway. It kinda pulled the the alternator into the bracket and held it in there when the belt was on. I left it for a while to try it, and the cast aluminum bracket ended up breaking, and the alternator fell off.

You have to grind both bracket (front and back) to make it fit. some people say you have to take alittle off the timing chain cover to make it fit. I didnt. Want pics of grinding? if so i will try to get some on here later on tonight. I take pics of everything but never do anything with them right away till i test completley

doorless.. free! used a cutting wheel (not mine) air compresser (not mine) and grade 8 bolts for door pins (also not mine) haha i use my friends stuff so i don't have to buy it.

I'd like to see pics. I want to do this to mine. More power is always good. What year models or specific alternator part numbers will work on the XJ?
