Last night I finally mounted my winch.
After owning it for 3 months I finally got around to mounting it on my 95 Grand Cherokee. Its ugly as hell but its really strong. Welded and bolted on threw the frame. I do plan on building off of it but right now it will do.
The begging
My Chicago electric 8000lbs winch.
The universal winch plate.
Just needs some paint and my light mounted.
Tested it by pulling a Toyota truck across the parking lot. The winch is slow but has plenty of power.

i dont know it looks like its on there pretty good to me. Maybe ad gussets on the inside edges to add a little more strength but deffinitely great start. Then maybe you can add on some to the sides and eventually make it a full bumper.

We put a lot of stress on it last night and it never bugged. I hooked it to a Toyota and with both of us on pavement and in park it would drag the truck with 33"s across the parking lot and then he dragged my Jeep across the parking lot with it. side to side and straight on. The guy who welded it up is a professional welder and every seam is welded. I will know tonight if it will hold up but I'm not worded about it.
Thats what I plan on doing in a few weeks. I want to build it up to a full bumper with bars to protect the headlights. Later on I'm building a rear bumper and rock sliders and I'm going to exo cage it just for the hell of it.

I have tested it offroad and it held up great. Got my Jeep stuck on the axle in a mud hole and had to winch at a angle and nothing moved.
Awesome mud hole it looked dry and as I drove over it I fell in and sunk like a rock.

It worked great and yesterday I added some light to the Jeep. Just 7 of them. 2 6" lights on the winch plate and 5 3" fog lights on the roof.
