Just finished up some fender fab work.
Well since I haven't seen anyone else flair their fenders this way, I figured I'd show the world what i did. Instead of cutting the fenders and calling it good. I decided to hammer out the stock ones and put a little rubberized under coating on it. It was i little tough to do the rear fenders, due to the spot welds. But i think they turned out alright.
I might make a write up if i get good feed back.
Tools: BFG, body work hammer and dolly set, very little bondo(for the rear), angle grinder, hack saw.
Paint: Primer and 3m rubberized undercoating.

Pros and Cons!
Pros: looks good (imo), cheep, helps get pent up aggression out, and different. doesn't need to be perfect- chances are they'll get messed up.
Cons: NOT as durable as plastic, may require being fixed after careless wheeling trips, may be sharp if not done right.
Apologies in advanced if this is in the wrong section, I'm new to posting threads.

Thanks guys! i used to do this on my lowered VWs. just so i could fit/tuck wide tires. but not as extreme as my XJ.
I'd say this is a good mod for stock offset wheels with 31s. Any bigger of a tire could cause rubbing. Or if those wheels are poked out too much, same results could occur. I'm running a tired 3in lift and have no rubbing what so ever.
I'll be helping a friend do the same mod here very soon. so I'll actually take pics of the process, and post them. I found it pretty easy and time consuming, but isn't most body work?
