Default idea for snorkel

Hey guys, I've been wanting a snorkel for my jeep for a while now because ive been in a few close calls with my hood plunging underneath in the mud pits and seeing as I cross over the river(in the summer of course) to a little island where I wheel at, but I could never find a homemade snorkel design that I liked, they all either used the stock airbox sealed up(just like hte ones you buy too) or you use one from a junkyard. Well I was watching the powerblock this weekend and on horsepower in the begining they were showing some intake options from Spectre, and they briefly mentioned an "inline airfilter". With a little bit of searching around online I came up with this, http://store.spectreperformance.com/...5.66740.0.0.0? . Its a cone style filter that goes inside of a 4" pipe, they sell the pipes for them with a 3 or 4" in/out but overall size of the filter is a 4"OD. Seeing as I would rather spend 27 bucks then 90 for the setup, Im thinking just run pipe from the TB and make a housing for the inline filter to fit with my intake pipeing, then run it to a snorkel, it will look clean, be less bulky, and perfect for those of you running 2 batteries. What do you guys think? I dont see any issues with it, makes plumbing the pipes easier, less clutter, cheap, easy.

Im probably going to wind up ordering one of those filters this week, but as far as pipeing for the snorkel goes, is 2.5" a good size? Because I have a bunch of scrap intercooler pipeing from my car that I can make one out of, its black powder coated too so it would look good, but im not sure if its to small?
