Default I wanted a metal dash, now I got one.

I always wanted a metal dash and I got bored and made one. After a few more in/out test fitting i'll paint it body color. (Sassy Grass Green, Cuda - color) Im also leaving the drivers side end cap as an access panel.

I put the factory instrument panel in the center, but eventually plan to run some autometer cobalts (got the same in my f350)

Damn, very nice! My dash is crap, I wanted to do this, but I've got other things to worry about first.

Great job, though!

Yeah I thought it would be cheaper to add the metal dash than buy a CJ. LOL
after your post I thought about the vin tag and I sill need to rivet it to the new dash.

looks sick, as for the sun on metal things..i don't know about you buy i don't touch my dash too often however passengers may have an issue..Haha you could do some sort of padded dash cover or something though or just put a sticker on the dash that says something like "this dash is metal, the sun is hot, if you touch it well..you should be shot"

the previous owner butchered the radio harness while trying to reinstall the stock radio. Im ripping all that out and starting fresh. Im thinking a tuffy security console type with stereo in console. Without doors it'd be too easy for an ******* to steal it. Also adding a sound bar.

painted body color it shouldnt be too bad. We get alot of old cars with painted dash's in the shop and they dont get too hot sitting out back in the summer. And if it is hot and a passenger touches it, they got what they deserved, dont touch my junk!

Just need to get one of those "OH ****" bars for the passenger and you'll be good
