I have found some pistons with rods passing all the way through the cilinder, it would need only 2 of these, they cost 300 each, it depends on what u are planning to do, you would not need any shocks and springs and the system would be totally linear.
and if something on your power steering goes out you are going to have an AWESOME time getting off the trail.
its a neat idea, but not practical for 101% of xj'ers

you would need full hydro steer to eliminate bumpsteer and you would be insane to then drive it on the street.

epic fail.
neat theory. but so was my theory for practical (i.e. not in a vehicle) use of a 2.HATE liter as a combination 3cyl gas/3cyl air compressor. now THAT was a neat idea...but it just turned out to be fun to shoot rods through the block and put it to good use in the scrap pile.
