I got the halo and roof plates done yesterday. Just have to finish weld the halo on, and build my spare tire carrier, and paint, then the exo portion is done.

 

bolting it through the roof?

 

Yes. There will be another plate on the inside of the jeep, tieing into the interior cage. (it will be a little bigger than the outside ones so that it does not creat a shear point) It will be bolted together with 16-1/2'' bolts.

I did it this way to help seal up the jeep. Usually I run straight thru the roof, but my girl hated that on my last exoed xj. She always seemed to sit right where the wind was blowing thru, or where the water was. I like a happy girl.

 

X2 on the happy old lady. The happier mine is, the more jeep money I get! Lol. What color do.you have in mind for the cage? If you painted the cage same as the jeep it would almost blend right in.

Sweet. Im thinking the same type of carrier on mine. Just like the genright one for tj's. Im gunna make it from alum to make it easy to swing up. Lookin forward to see how it turns out.
