I was thinking of doing the same thing for mine, only using the adjustable grates (the bbq grates that are 2 pieces that have a **** on one side to allow you to open/shut the vent slots to control heat in the bbq), paint them black (of course, engine black) and maybe coat the underside of the top piece in a self stick silicone gasket somethingorother so it could be water tight when closed. Any thoughts?
I almost used the floor lourved vents, the ones that are rectangular and you can shut them with a twist of that ****, but then I realized it would be just that, a floor vent on a hood haha post pic but I didnt want to make it look weird. if you found the rite one though post a pic of it
