Sorry guys, I have been gone a few days. I don't have pictures of the Grand am grille/vents. Hood got bent and I put another on it, and don't have the grills re-installed. I installed them more toward the edges so rain wouldn't come directly down on the motor. It also gets the heat away from the center of the engine compartment.
This is a great web site. Am getting a lot of ideas.

I just put a set in my 98..I used the Grill Sheets from Lowes also. They still had some at my local store.I also used the door edging around the hood edge and clear silicone underneath to hold them in place. Thanks for the great idea.

I did this also this evening on my WJ. Only my WJ hasn't been painted yet so I'm gonna tack weld them in. I like how the turned out so well that I'm gonna make grill inserts to match. Pics to come. Thanks for the idea. I love it. Great Thread!!!!

Dude, talk about nervous!!! LOL. But really it was a simple process. Just had to overcome the fear. I do have a little advantage by my jeep not having been painted yet. I'm gonna spot weld the screen to the hood. And I am not gonna use the door edging because with the layers of primer, paint, and clear that has to go on yet, it should bridge the line a little between the cut edge and the screen. The GrillOSheets are discontinued at Lowes and Home Depot, but Home Depot does have a different tray that has the same design. It's $15 though. That's what I used. It's a thick stainless. Again thanks for the great thread and idea. Two thumbs up buddy. Great Job.
On my FIL's Jeep (Black Jeep above) we did the Grill O Sheets. On mine, I ordered the vents from a guy I found on Jeepforum. His company is Flux Industries. I had a shape of vent that I wanted and he said he could match it. He then told me that he makes them for the Wranglers and sent a picture. It was very close to what I had but I liked his a little better so I went with it. It's very heavy perforated metal which I painted with Chassis Paint by VHT. There are Allen type bolts that hold them in. I like them because they are real sturdy so the hood doesn't really flop around at all and because they are different from everything else I've seen.

Got the vents all tack welded in and ground down. A guy stopped by the shop with an F250 wanting body work done and painted. When he saw the vents, he insisted on having us put a set in his hood when he gets this paint job brought in. LOL.

Did some today. Used a denatured alcohol can for template. Don't think I used enough silicone to adhere them to the hood though. I used some silicone then covered it in duct tape (auto grade) to hold them up while it dried. Hope it works.
