Has anyone attempted to make skidplates for a 98xj if so what kind of steel, how thick, which skid, and how much did it cost. I am thinking about making a complete set of skidplates I think it would be cheaper then buying skids from rustys and skidrow and prob stronger then theirs.

i use mild steel for the most part
3/16" thick minimum, 1/4" if its spread out over a large area.
If ya know what you are doing you can save some money and do some things the mass producing companies don't offer.
lol, if they did, that worked out terribly.
