homemade diff. covers, gaurds?

i wanna see the different types of gaurds you guys have on your diff.s,and a breif discripotion about them (what size steel/pipe,ect.) lets keep this going for a while!!

i didnt make this. it was on the axle when i bought it couple years back and i have been rocking it ever since. its super strong thats why i never replaced it. the ring is 1/4" plate. the cover is either 3/8" or 1/2" plate.

I made mine with out any real planning... after I get a 8.25 to put in I'll build it better! This one is just welded straight to the cover, so if it takes a hard hit it might start marking its territory!

ya i like to have some kinda plan/idea in my head, and ya i have no idea how im ganna do this yet.. its a project for tech that im doing on my own 7 miles away from my XJ : (

Ya you need a JY cause the way you might wanna start is, take a spare diff cover & cut it apart to make a mounting plate to weld your guard to. Then just mount it over your diff cover! if that makes sence...

ya i can picture what your saying. but yeah its not reall fitting my plans other than usi ng the bolt ring off it.
Built this last week outta 1/2" solid steel tube welded to the diff cover!
