I think one of the best summaries I've ever heard on this topic is that you can only take in as much air as you can let out... meaning your restrictions are no longer your intake, rather they become the exhaust. Pointless to improve the" in" if you aren't gonna improve the "out"

Your big mistake is in trying to find logic in the modification of a Jeep. We do what catches our fancy - not what makes sense.

True, and I too am no exception to that... however some of us that want to get the most bang for our buck have to manipulate our fancy... a homemade cool air intake is an excellent way to save money for a set of headers and highflow exhaust (something the average joe can't whip up in their back yard)

Another home brew mod ... and so simple: I always had a leak somewhere in the cargo area but couldn't find where it was coming from. I just found large random wet spots on the carpet. After reading in one of these forums I swapped in a door surround molding from a 99. They are visibly thicker - had to really spank the door to get it to close.
No more leak.

Made of square tubing, one cut at a time with a hacksaw until I got the angle down. 2 wing nuts ontop, and quick release pins on bottom.

Hey man, that's a great idea. Last time I tossed my 33 off my rack it bounced back and dented my driver side door. Think there is anyway you could hing them to the roof rack so that when you open the gate they go up with it? That would be sweet!
