Well thanks to Troth I finally got my Baja light upgrade finished. They are noticeable brighter. Only took 2 hours to remove old wire and install new wire. total cost about $30
40 feet of 10gauge wire is what this mod took. along with assorted splices fuses and connectors. I also added another ground strap from the battery to the frame.

I've added an extra 400 watts so far to mine and would like to add 2 hundred watts more to the front and one or 2 in the back but was wondering if I add more lights will I have to update my alternator? Can you or anyone tell me what's the max load that can be put on a stock 93 XJ charging system?

Tip: If getting one from the junkyard you have to make sure and get the internal braces and brackets in the bumper and up above the tail light. Bring a drill or sawzall. I had no way of getting the rivets for the brackets out so I had to make my own. I might reinforce it a bit in the future, but it's been good so far.

It came from an 86-87 XJ I think. It was an option on the 80's Cherokees before Chrysler bought Jeep. It's pretty good up to a 31" tire like I have.
Tip: If getting one from the junkyard you have to make sure and get the internal braces and brackets in the bumper and up above the tail light. Bring a drill or sawzall. I had no way of getting the rivets for the brackets out so I had to make my own. I might reinforce it a bit in the future, but it's been good so far.

The "surco" rack that came with my Cherokee was useless with the three lengthwise cross-members that touched my roof top. So, I decided to improve the rack. I bought black metal bars used to cover windows from home depot to add cross-members to the rack. It took more time and effort than I thought it would and cost me about $80 with the bars and new paint, but it is extremely sturdy and was way cheaper than buying another rack. Basically I just took two sets of window bars, cut the ends off the 10 bars with a sa-zaw, drilled holes into the bars, screwed them into the rack frame, and then painted it with bed liner. It turned out great, here are the pictures:

but im eventually going to weld it to an extra hitch ball mount that is missing the ball, that way i only have to worry about the winch breaking, i just don't have the dough for the extra wire it's gonna take to run power back there right now.
But you'd be surprised how well it works, lets just call it "The little winch that could".

yeah, but im gonna only gonna use it if i have too, being all tiny and all, like if im wheelin with someone i'll use my towstrap first, but if im all by myself i'll use it (safely of course in case the line gives!), but it will suffice for light duty pulling out of the mud.

Put a 3 outlet power supply on floor with extra storage. Put power inverter under drivers seat. Has the extra outlet there. The storage for my tools, jumper cables, straps, cords etc and hides my amp. About 20 bucks to build and cover not including the inverter I had that just laying around. 4.5 inch "Cubby Wholes" the kids say.
