Well, I just posted this in my build thread, but I figured I would share it here. I built a manual hatch strut for the driverside mounts, and had to work with it a little extra because the welded nut broke off the inside of the body. Since I lack a welder and what not, I took a different approach. The passengerside strut remains, and helps lift the hatch when I go to open it, and then I lock the manual strut. So far, works like a charm, and the trim didn't need to be cut or anything.

Yes I'm going to take it down to use the spray on bed liner. I was also thinking of putting some great reflecting material on roof before putting the head liner board back in place since I live in the desert and outside temps reach 110 degrees plus.

So I tried DashCam v1.0 today. 3M wall-hanging tape with the camera attached directly to the dash. It held extremely well, but had lots of vibration and noise from the lens cover rattling.
Plan for v2.0 is to use the 3M tape to attach a soft sponge to the dash. I'll run a 1/4" carriage bolt up through the sponge and screw the camera down using the tripod mounting point.

Added some more to the rear area, found this dog gaurd thing on clearance at an auto parts store and it rang up at $0.67 and I paid as quick ad I could lol. I reinforced it with some 3/4" emt and made my own plates for the ceiling and used washers and nuts to hold them down. Pretty fun.
