Default Trunk area rebuild

For info on the rosette/plug weld technique check here: http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/plug-weld.htm
They hold great. Also, ensure you seal the edges then use a coat of bed liner.

When you cut out the bad spots, check everything under aswhere its currently bad.
I found my treat frame rails, were shot. I had to rebuild them as well.

Exactly what I'm planning on doing to the "T", but I'm planning on using diamond plate steel instead of replacement sheet metal of the same gauge.

Decided to reuse the worthless spare tire mount, and repurpose it for an ammo can mount. Cans are full of trail supplies ect.

It mounts to the tire carrier hole on the top, and into the support plate below.

no cans.

Battery J hook up the center to an aluminum angle iron top plate. Think of it as a "t" hold down. Simple, light weight,no rattles.

lol.. this is why I asked. I figured he probably thought of something a little more ingenuitive than a ratchet strap. No offense, of course, that's a completely viable option. I like engineered details like this though.

Those are dukie discos. Made by dukie564 he has a write up somewhere with specs and materials used. IIRC it may be in his build thread.
