^^ you do have a point but having a snorkel does get the intake up and above the heavier dirt that is in the air. especially in dusty desert trails having your intake higher gets cleaner air certainly cleaner than the air at grill level. Snorkels are a great idea when done right can be very beneficial so your boy with the snorkel in the desert isn't completely nuts. they aren't just for water.

not it only takes about 6 months. think about it. he removed the stock airbox so the intake hole by the radiator will constantly allow water vapor and dirt into his engine compartment dirrectly by the dryer exhaust hosing which has the duct tape on it. the constant high to low temperatures of driving and then parking will weaken the glue quickly. also the glue doesnt have a great surface to attach to on the ribs of the heater exhaust hosing. I used duct tape on an airbox mod that I did temporarily until I could get fiberglass and It held up maybe a month and a half and my airbox sealed that hole

Jeez gus cut him some slack. He said all he was doing with it was wheeling it in the woods and who cares if its not pretty. I cleaned all my gutters the other week that had ice in them and they held up to 4 in of ice.
BTW....the NAXJA guys looks like it wouldnt get a whole lot of air to it and cause it to over heat

you had 4" of ice just on your gutter mounts? howd you manage that? hanging off or built upward?
one of my favorites was when I worked up at meadows ski resort and I came down to my jeep to find it buried in a snow drift and a 4-5 forr horrizontal wind drift clinging to my rain gutters.
GOBALZERS6- what did you cheat on? I saw your apology

Really? Thats just an ignorant assumption. You think everyone on NAXJA is made of money? Just because people like their Jeep done right doesn't mean they are loaded. I worked hard for EVERYTHING I have so I like it done right. A couple of my favorite people to wheel with are active here and on NAXJA and they aren't made of money. I am not gonna be an *** about it because CF is more heavily moderated. Thats ok, Thats how its done here and I understand fully. Its nice to have constructive criticism but sometimes you gotta here the cold, hard truth.
