If I did this to my jeep the bolts would pry rip right out of the unibody on the first pull... Its nothing but rust back there, in some spots you can push your finger through the metal...

Edit:
Sorry, didnt realize how old the last post was...

i might end up doing this mod i towed another xj 20 miles by hooking a chain up to the axel. but the hooks would of been great especially in the front.

There are plenty of aftermarket brackets for front tow points, thats why I made these for the rear. They have worked great and provide peace knowing I have them when on the trails.

I have http://www.hicountryoffroad.com/Prod...r_recovery.htm
SKU# 600008 up front.

i thought tearing stuff up and off was half the fun.... and the other half was figuring out how to rig it back on thier lol

uh. no.

crap getting ripped off your rig means things go flying, potentially hurting and/or killing you or someone standing by.

no.

Why not mount them under the bumper so you didn't need to cut it?

Clearance? Ever tried to climb that hill and the only thing stopping you was your low ***** tow hooks? No? Thats because nobody makes their hooks the lowest thing.

Installed those this week/last weekend, and i can def. say they arent going anywhere. instal was pretty easy, only hard part was getting the front skid i got to fit around it nicely while still keeping it nice and net looking. Only thing is the front shroud will need to be cut to fit it. Just line it up, mark it, and cut it and retry. I'll have pics up after this week when i get the last skid and rocker rails on it.
