Looks better than I expected it to... How bad does it rattle in the hitch?

Other than the fact it sticks out half a foot behind the Jeep I like it. It certainly wouldn't last on the trails for me.

It tilts slightly side to side, nothing a bead of weld and some sand paper can't fix when i have the time. And i made it as close to the hatch and bumper as i could, compared to other home-brew hitch carriers mine sits the closest that I've seen. Its all made of 1/4" thick steel so its not breaking off anytime soon, and i can drop the tire from vertical to down and it doesn't bend or shift besides the jeep bouncing a little, i think its strong enough to handle some serious abuse

Well, I didn't mean that it was going to snap off. I meant that I'd drop off of a ledge or try to climb a hill and it'd hit the ground.

First time it got hung up... that ***** would be laying on the side of the trail in a ditch somewhere.

That's why I mounted mine high and I only have 5psi in it so if I do hit something I don't bounce much. Pretty much all I ride is rocks and ruts and so far it's been fine. Beats filling my entire rear cargo area and roof isn't even an option.

Exactly. The hitch sticks out way too far. I wish I didn't have to deal with the rear bumper and leaf shackles where they are...

Only 5psi? What's the point of a flat spare? Lmao, where I am I don't see myself hitting anything with it

5psi isn't flat, especially if you have beadlocks

I only run 3psi in my tires so 5 is a bit high. I also carry a 20lb bottle of CO2 just in case. I guess with smaller tires 5psi might be an issue but with my 38 bias tires it's fine.

About $25 for the square tubing, and the plates I already had, same with the hub, and hardware was < $20
