hidden winch mount

anyone here ever fabricated a mount for a winch that will fit behind/in the stock bumper cover? i want to mount a winch but dont particularly want an aftermarket steel bumper.

Boostwerks has a hidden winch mount about to become a production model here soon enough.

I'll be one of the first few to try it (he's just down the road from me).

I'd highly suggest that one unless you want to take the time and effort to make one.

When I bought the XJ, 14 years ago, I tried and failed to find one of Mopar's optional hidden winch kits.
So, I built my own using a Warn M8000 winch.
I had already built a base plate, for a Roadmaster tow bar, so it could be flat towed behind our motorhome.
The winch mount utilized the existing base plate as a foundation. The relay box is located next to the relocated coolant bottle.
While the bumper is pushed forward a little over an inch, it looks stock and, as long as the license plate is in place, no one has ever spotted it, even at XJ events.

It's still sitting on my shelf , not sure If Bryson has moved on production on it yet (one man operation).

Planning on getting it on in the fall once buggy season, buggy repair, and buggy upkeep has waned a bit.

Be sure to keep us updated when you're able to install it. Do you have any details you can share? Is there a complete bumper in the works or does it work with certain bumpers or what? I'll be looking at getting a hidden winch bumper around that time. Right now, I want the Hooligan stealth winch bumper, but it's a little out of my price range. Really like the style of it, but I'm looking for other options.
