i was just sitting here looking at your pictures a little closer and i think i decided on something i want to do to my XJ. i have been planning to chop the top, but was unsure on what i wanted to do to the hatch. i think i'm going to kind of steal your idea, but it wont say jeep, and i think i'll make it fold down and have cables like a pickup tailgate.

then for a bumper, i will probably tuck a piece of tubing up in that channel where the bumper brackets are and just put bolts through the tube into the stock mount holes and probably add a few extra bolts for strength.
