Hi
Down here in Oz , XJ came standard with fuel tank skid plates , pretty solid as I had my xj rear in the air with the tank sitting on a tree stump and the fuel tank wasn't scratched.
I thought you guys would of had them.

The problem with you Yanks is you can,t build a vehicle , learn to put the steering wheel on the the right side

make sure you go into the unirail. your tow points right now are basically 4 bolts thru 14ga steel.... which will rip easy

my gas tank skid is 3/16" thick and is bolted to the unirail with 4 bolts on both sides and my bumper is gonna be bolted with 3 3/8" bolts to the gas tank skid along the rear sandwiching the the bottom lip of the sheetmetal between the two thats what the 2" strip of 1/4" is going between the two mounting plates and the bottom tube is gonna be welded solid all the way across the 1/4" strip then bent around the corners and also might weld on some strips that go back and bolt on the unirail with the 4 bolts also theres no worry in my mind it will be built like a brick s@#$ house

Real nice work, make sure you keep dirt out of that gas tank skid to avoid a rusted out tank.

well my steering box was leaking so i decided to replace it with a 99 durango box and figured i would make myself a inner steering box brace/spacer thing i used 3/16" plate and 1" 1/4" wall dom for the tube so basically just like all the aftermarket ones kinda lol and i made the spacers about an 1/8" longer for the durango box now i just have to go put it back together
