If it were me .... I would grove it out with a grinder (small air grinder ) then refill it in with weld grind that smooth then put a square piece of at least 3/16" plate over it and seal weld that

If that area is thin sheet metal ill explain the best I can ok so tac make the metal red then let it cool to a light red (just a few secs) then tac again and keep repeating that if you burn through then your going to fast let the metal cool then restart

it looks like you need to practice first before you try to fix that. practice on scraps for a while til you get your speed and consistency under control, otherwise you'll be back to square one (and possibly making it worse). also, it needs to be cleaned properly down to bare metal with no dirt, rust or oil present.

You need to figure out why it is cracking? I have been abusing the hell out of my rig and have never seen it crack on the bottom. Sides, ps box, yes on the bottom never.

As stated, grind a v into the crack, weld it up, and plate over it... BUT, you need to find the very end of the crack and drill a hole, then weld it up too. this will help keep the crack from extending.
You need to find the cause of this, this is definately not a common failure area.

You need to weld it, then plate over it. When you plate over it make sure you span a minimum of 4" either way. And plug weld it on. If you weld around it, it will just crack there instead. Then you need to tie the driver side frame rail to the passenger side. to keep the bottom of the rail from ripping loose.
This is what will happen if you don't get on that quick! (granted the track bar caused this hole)
